In February 2022, the Australian Government asked for feedback on remaining legislative recommendations in the Respect@Work Report(opens in a new window).
The Commissioner made a submission to this consultation. The Commissioner's feedback addressed recommendations 17 and 18 of the Respect@Work report:
- introduce a positive duty on employers to prevent workplace sexual harassment
- enable the Australian Human Rights Commission to assess and enforce compliance with the positive duty.
