In 2022 the NSW Government established the Women's Economic Opportunities Review. The Review sought to identify reforms to:
- support women to enter, re-enter, and stay in the workforce
- improve women's economic security
- reduce the gender pay gap and improve women's leadership opportunities
- support women to start and run their own businesses.
The Commissioner made a submission to the Review. The submission made 15 recommendations. These submissions were largely based on Victoria's experiences and Gender Equality Act 2020. The submission encouraged NSW to adopt measures similar to Victoria's Act.
