Each year, the Victorian Independent Remuneration Tribunal (Tribunal) updates the pay for executives in the Victorian Public Service (VPS).
The Commissioner made a submission to the Tribunal's 2025 determination.
The submission made 3 recommendations, including that the Tribunal:
- consider the executive gender pay gap in the VPS as a key economic indicator
- consider gendered segregation in the VPS as a key economic indicator
- ban asking for or relying on salary history when recruiting or promoting VPS executives, or when setting remuneration.
Using a gender lens in the Tribunal's determinations can help close the gender pay gap in the VPS. This will create a more equal and effective public sector for all Victorians.
You can view the determination on the Tribunal's website(opens in a new window).
