- How to analyse your audit data – Guidance note for using performance measures(opens in a new window)
- New reports on the Commission’s Reporting Platform
- Reporting platform user guide(opens in a new window)
- Updated Audit guidance(opens in a new window)
These resources build on the audit guidance, templates and on-demand videos released in May. They provide comprehensive, practical advice to help duty holders understand and comply with their obligations.
How to analyse your audit data – guidance note for using performance measures
This comprehensive guide helps duty holders analyse their audit data. It describes performance measures for each of the 7 workplace gender equality indicators.
The guide provides detailed advice on:
- how to analyse audit data, including workforce data and employee experience data
- what the performance measures are, including critical and supplementary measures
- how the 7 indicators are linked.
New reports on the Commission’s Reporting Platform
The Commission has launched new reports within the online Reporting Platform. These reports allow duty holders to check and analyse their data before submitting it to the Commissioner.
The new reports include:
- Improved data quality report. This report checks the quality of the workforce audit data that a duty holder has uploaded and whether the audit is likely to be compliant. Audit data is tested against the Commission’s data quality rules. If any issues are found, they are listed in this report with guidance on how to resolve them.
- Performance report. This new report provides an organisation’s data against the performance measures for each of the 7 workplace gender equality indicators. The performance measures help duty holders understand gender inequality in their organisation. They are used to develop gender equality action plans and progress reports.
Visit the Reporting Platform to access the reports. Read the 2025 Audit guidance(opens in a new window) and Reporting platform user guide(opens in a new window) for instructions on how to use the reports.
Reporting Platform user guide
The user guide provides step-by-step instructions for accessing, navigating and using the Reporting Platform.
Duty holders use the Reporting Platform to prepare and submit their obligations.
Access the Reporting Platform user guide(opens in a new window).
Updated audit guidance
The 2025 Audit guidance has been updated to include:
- guidance on using the new reports in the Reporting Platform
- expanded definitions for total remuneration, formal flexible work arrangements and parental leave. These changes address some of the frequently asked questions from duty holders.
Duty holders under the Gender Equality Act must submit an audit every two years. The data collected in audits will show where gender inequality exists and persists in your organisation.
An audit is the first step in developing a Gender equality action plan. It sets the baseline for your organisation’s gender equality data. An audit is also done as part of a progress report. It compares your workforce and employee experience data with the data from your previous audits.
The next audit is due on 1 December 2025.
