New case study videos show how four public sector organisations have benefitted from applying gender impact assessments (GIAs) to their work.

The case studies are from:

Staff from these organisations show that you don’t need to be an expert to get started on GIAs. They share how GIAs can uncover things we might not have realised about how our work impacts people of different genders. They also show that the GIA process itself is important.

Justine Linley from Corangamite Shire Council says: “We really encourage you to just get in there and have a go. Don't treat it as a tick box exercise, bring other people into the discussion, because that brings so much value into the process.”

Importantly, the case studies show that GIAs are having positive effects for gender equality in Victoria.

As Graz Starc from the Department of Transport shares: “It's exciting to be able to have that evidence base and build on it and look back and say, yep, we did make a difference. And here’s the data to prove how.”

We’d like to thank all the people involved in producing these videos.
